Grenada Lake Medical Center/Home Health

Through our fully-licensed Home Health Agency, patients leaving the medical center receive the additional care they need at home. With a physician’s order, nurses; speech, physical and occupational therapists; social workers, registered dietitians, pharmacists, and home health aides provide services in a 5-county area. Those counties are: Carroll, Grenada, Montgomery, Tallahatchie, and Yalobusha.

GLMC Home Health Services accepts all insurance coverage – Medicare, Medicaid, Worker’s Compensation, comprehensive, private insurance and self-pay.

Special Note about Medicare

In order for a patient to receive covered home health services under both Part A and Part B, the law requires that a physician certify in all cases that the patient is confined to his or her home. An individual does not have to bedridden to be considered confined to the home. However, the condition of these patients should be that there exists a "normal inability to leave the home and, consequently, leaving the home would require a considerable and taxing effort." If the patient does in fact leave the home, the patient may nevertheless be considered homebound if the absences from the home are infrequent or for periods of relatively short duration, or attributable to the need to receive medical treatment.
