Grenada Lake Medical Center/Rehabilitation Services

Hope has many faces. It could be the face of the patient next to you, excited about getting back the use of her legs. It could be the face of your therapist, informing you that you are recovering faster than he or she predicted. It could be the faces of your loved ones, anticipating the day you return home.

Grenada Lake Medical Center’s Rehabilitation Department makes these hopes a reality. We provide care for you during your stay at GLMC; in your home through our Home Health Agency; and on an outpatient basis through our new, easy to access location just off the lobby of the medical center.

Our staff of physical, occupational and speech therapists, as well as orthopedic physicians, provides Rehabilitation for the diagnoses of: stroke, spinal cord injuries, congenital deformities, amputation, head injuries, fractured and broken bones, arthritis, and other physical conditions.

Grenada Lake Medical Center has recently added a new service to the Rehabilitation Department - Cardiac Rehabilitation.  Cardiac Rehabilitation is a medically supervised exercise, education, and behavioral modification program with the goal to improve the physical and emotional condition of patients with heart disease.

The department also provides assistance to local businesses and industries with Functional Capacity Evaluations and Work Site Assessments.   School athletic teams can avail themselves of GLMC’s certified athletic trainers.

GLMC's Rehabilitation Department also has several Wellness Programs that members of the community can participate in.  These programs include: a balanced aerobics class, a low impact aerobics class, People With Arthritis Can Exercise class, prenatal exercise class, and you can even exercise in the Rehabilitation Department on the available equipment.  There is a monthly fee for all programs.  As with any exercise program, it is advisable that you check with your physician before beginning the program.
